Version 7.0 Now Available!
The Openwave Phone Simulator Version 7.0 is now available for download. This version of the Phone Simulator contains the latest version of the Openwave Mobile Browser and MMS client, and should be used for desiging/testing applications that are targeting phones with the Openwave Mobile Browser version 6.2.3 and higher. Phone Simulator V7 has a "dual stack" configuration, meaning that the single executable contains both the WAP and HTTP versions of the browser. Some things to note:
The default configuration is direct, "proxy-less" communication, meaning there is no need to connect through a gateway or a local proxy. However, connections with the Openwave Developer Mobile Access Gateway running on devgate2.openwave.com are still supported.
If you have the preview release of the Phone Simulator V7 installed on your system, you will need to uninstall it prior to installing the GA version.
To use the MMS Client in the Phone Simulator, you will have to provision yourself on the Openwave Developer MMSC. Please take the time to read the MMS Quickstart for Phone Simulator V7.
